Representation for Military Veterans
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers benefits for those with disabilities as a result of their military service. To be eligible for VA benefits, you must be a veteran, a veteran's dependent, a surviving spouse, child or parent of a deceased veteran, an active duty service member, or a member of the reserve or National Guard. If you are at least 10% disabled as a result of your military service, the VA can pay you monthly compensation. To get this compensation you need an experienced attorney.
Veteran's Disability Law is an extremely complex area of law. Prior to 2006, veterans were not allowed to hire attorneys to represent them in the Regional Office and the Board of Veterans' Appeals. This law was changed in 2006 with the recognition by Congress that veterans should have the right to legal representation in this important area of the law. In veterans disability claims, having a lawyer helps to clarify the issues and insures that the claim is properly supported by the medical evidence.
As veterans' law is different from any other type of state or federal administrative law, the VA only allows those lawyers who have successfully applied for accreditation to represent veterans before the Agency. At William R. Penn, P.C. we have been accredited by the VA and are admitted to practice by the Court of Appeals of Veterans Claims. We are also a member of the National Organization of Veterans' Advocates allowing us to stay current with the best practices concerning this area of law.

We Can Make Your Veterans Disability Claim Heard
We represent clients with a variety of disabilities, whether you have been denied service connection, or feel that your rating isn't high enough, we can help you appeal your right to benefits. Contacting an attorney as quickly as possible is important to protect your rights. Remember: a denial from the VA doesn't mean that your claim for benefits isn't valid. Thousands of veterans are denied each year. We can help you determine the validity of your claim, deal with the government bureaucracies and your medical disability. We handle Veterans' Disability cases at all levels of the process: Regional Office -- Board of Veterans' Appeals -- U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims.
We are familiar with disabling medical conditions and help you get your benefits. There is no time limit on when a claim can be filed. Sometimes an event that happened while you were in service might take years to cause a disability, such as exposure to Agent Orange. In these cases, a Veteran is entitled to bring a claim no matter how long it's been since he's been out of the service. In some cases your award could have an effective date that could go back for many years. When this happens, the VA is required to pay all of the benefits you would have received over those years.
We respect the service you gave to our country, and we are here to make sure you receive the benefits you deserve. To schedule your free initial consultation, contact our firm online or call 928-753-1830, or toll free at 888-338-3680...you don't have to go through this alone....
